    Burton FTW

Filed under: Computers, Free time, Video — bm4n @ 12:59 pm

Man, Tim Burton is so deliciously twisted…He makes me look like less of a freak. He mad 6 eps of a show called World of Stain Boy in flash format. I don’t know how they were released but for the next couple posts I will feature them on the blog…They are only a couple minutes long and well worth it for the Burton fan. Not so much for the faint of heart…like I said, he’s very twisted.

If you’d like to see a bigger version you can do so by following this link.

    Tired…

Just got back from Wally’s…(Walmart to the layman) I am dying for sleep and warm now but I have some pretty good (read: rambling) stories to tell so once I get the free time I’ll post em here and probably some pics…Oh yeah, I was camped for a PS3. Only 36 hours but it was a lot for me…

So I’m staying up late, procrastinating as usual, I figured I should put something here worth seeing…so I decided to put some pics in! of my BYU experience, nonetheless…so, without further ado:

    starting...
    shaving...
    Almost done
    OMGOSH, EMO!!11oneoe

Hehe…hope you enjoyed the show. I wanted to paint it black or spike it up or something but this being BYU that is actually AGAINST THE HONOR CODE. Heh. So All my hair’s gone now…yeah.

Also, any body have comments on my list from last time? I’d love to hear (read: ignore) them!

Every tuesday and thursday I have 4 classes (physics, chemistry, book of mormon, and calculus). I have chem at 8 in the morning (holy crap…) and then i have physics, book of mormon, and calculus right in a row from 1:00-5:00. I recently found out that there is a physics class at 9:00 and it happens to be in the same building as chemistry so I started going to that class instead, giving myself more time to get work done between classes. The problem with this is that I usually fall asleep after this (random places on campus) and have a hard time getting up for my other classes, but this is besides the point. The point is there is no book of mormon class this week as my instructor is on a business trip (he is one of the head tech guys for the LDS church and flies around checking new stuff out for kiosks and stuff; stuff like touch screens and 3D movies). When he is out of town he puts 2 vids online which is nice because I just watch em on Sunday which seems appropriate anyways. This is also not the point. This week we have a book of mormon exam. The last exam was on 1 Nephi and 2 Nephi ch 1. That is liek not very long for those of you not in teh know…The point is that this test had 70 multiple choice questions…70. Are there even that many verses?? I mean seriously…so I didn’t do too hawt on that exam which was probably my own fault. So last night at like…late I get this random email saying that some girl from my class is having a review session, or wants to rather. I was like what?? Then realized that I need all the help I can get. When I contacted her I asked her how she got my email address: apparently anyone in school can mail anything they want to an entire class they are enrolled in — word (read: creepy). <-- No the point

So we decided to meet in the library at 11 but my phys class gets out at about 10:20 so I decided to sit in here because it is warm. See, the past couple days weather.com has been full of crap as it keeps telling me it feels like 30-35 degrees out and when I go out its like hot and I end up carrying my sweatshirt around all day. I decided to ignore the site today and not even check, of course it is raining. it feels like cold degrees.

I also had to write a 3 page rough draft for a book of mormon paper for today. Its not very good but I still had to write it…After I finished up I watched eps of Prison Break and Arrested Development while entering powerade caps into a txt file. A couple of weeks ago I realized I drink a ridiculous amount of powerade (I have since stopped since I heard it will make you fat unless you are active while drinking it…huh). I noticed that there were little codes under each cap and decided to save them up. After about 2 weeks I had 20 or 30 or so and went to the powerade site to see what I could get. After 3 days of entering codes (you can only enter 10/day = gay) I looked through the prizes which were pretty phatty. I had saved up almost 100 points (3 points/cap, 3 points for signing up, 3 points for making a profile) and realized I could get a couple cool things like a sick-nasty hat. For only a couple hundred I could get a sweet sweatshirt. As I went up to the top I saw that for 825 points I could get a snowboard…Thats like 300 caps which I figured was entirely doable over a 30 day period. This peaked my interest as I recently grew out of my snowboard (about time as its about the perfect size for my 9 year old brother) and I figured I could do this. I started telling people I saw to give me their caps and I started spending about 10$/day on powerade (which wasn’t bad considering I had almost $75 saved up on my food plan). After a couple days I realized I probably wouldn’t reach my goal so I turned to eBay…After a couple of days of searching I finally found a single auction for 500 caps. I paid about 30 shipped for the caps which is well worth it when you consider a $300 snowboard…Something odd about the points is that a set of skis is like 1500 points and so is a $90 backpack…don’t know what the guy was smoking when he made the values but I would guess it was crack. So anyways thats why I was up last night entering in codes, its a pain and I decided to nail a bunch all at once. But this kept me up late and now I am tired. and by late I mean early.

On the topic of eBay, the other day I saw a broken xbox on eBay for like 10 bucks. I figured I’d auction snipe (www.auctionstealer.com <--great site) it for 35 bucks total (shipped) because I wouldn't care if I won it or lost it at that price. I end up winning the thing and when it gets to me the first thing I do is open it up. It was HILARIOUS! The kid's box must've stopped reading games because when I opened it up the dvd drive was in pieces in the box and it's IDE cable was cut, ROFL! So I take out his mess, put it my own drive and IDE cable and joila (whoolaa? I don't speak spanish.) it works perfect! I got a perfect xbox for like 30 bucks shipped, go me. So I'm gonna mod it I think as it's been a while and it should be a fun project, especially since all of my projects in the past have been "learning experiences." Now that I know a bit more than when I started I should actually be able to have a clear cut plan and mod something that looks professional (theoretically...).

Well I remember I started this post with a reason and I’m sure I even hit on that at some point but its pretty much devolved into a rant again about nothing. heh. Its a good thing no one reads this (well i do…haha no i don’t) or they might be disapointed in the deteriorating quality of these blogs. Maybe if I had a co herent plan before I started writing…Oh wait, I remember one of my points now!

Remember a couple of posts ago where I hypocrtically commended myself for not being a jerk to a kid I thought was a jerk?? Well it turns out he’s not. I am for writing that. He’s nice and he helps me with chem and we might even form a study group! He knows my name and says hi to me. I should keep thoughts like that to myself, they are not Christ-like. Speaking of random people knowing my name: Everybody here knows my name. I walked in the library lobby and BAM some random kid’s like hey Braxton! Mmmm…yeah? Yeah I’m a friend of Jason’s, we met one time. I’m like oookkk…who is jason…So then I just talked to him for a bit as I seem to be a pretty good converstaion carry on-er and he’s a cool kid whose name I don’t remember and who I will probably never see (and reckognize) again.

Oh yeah, one last thing (as I’m supposed to be meeting the group now) - I spend like 5 hours/day in the math lab. I met a lot of kids from my class and they are really cool. One of the kids is an RM (well more than one) and he’s cool. He’s always like wanting to help me progress and stuff. Well he’s always smiling and I think that’s awesome. Lately I started smiling like all the time and it just makes little worries go away. I feel like a retard sometimes, walking around smiling at nothing but then I think that when I see people smiling it makes me happy, I can’t be that bad at it (ok, i am new to it but cut me some slack) I don’t always smile, like sometimes when I’m trying to look like a thug or something (I am born in philly, raised in NY…HA!) but I usually try to and its pretty awesome.

    Smile! And wear sunscreen,

    I am Sam Fisher

So its a Friday night (or Saturday morning, rather…) and I obviously spent the whole night in my dorm. Let me elaborate: I recently convinced one of my halleys (thats someone who lives in my hall.) to leave his 360 in my dorm. My R.A. bought the new Splinter Cell game but his 360 got lost in the mail when he sent it in for repair. My roommate rarely uses his TV. If you couldn’t but 2 and 8 together, I stayed up (alone) playing the new Splinter Cell on my halley’s 360 with my roommates TV. This game is fantastic but it can be pretty difficult to find a match sometimes…Which is good because this caused me to do co-op and I now know like 10 maps as opposed to the 2 I knew before. Because it took so long I spent most of my off time in this game achieving this score: i win

All of this is terribly off topic as the real reason I decided to blog is to set in stone (or at least the way back machine) the beginnings of my list of things-that-i-would-really-like-to-do-at-some-point-in-my-life-in-order-to-satisfy-this-list-of-things-that-i-would-really-like-to-do-at-some-point-in-my-life. The list still in its infant stages and completely subject to change and/or checking off and I would even appreciate (and probably ignore) input from my fanbase! Now I used to know how many people came to this site but since the loss of my cPanel license and my inability to sit down for five minutes to find a stat tracker I have no idea how many visitors I actually get and therefore, if I even have a fanbase. Another way I could monitor this would be comments *ahem*

OK so there goes my Friday but I think after I wake up tomorrow I will eat, go outside, get bored, go back inside and play Splinter Cell, and then go see the Prestige. Everyone says it is amazing and it makes me sad that I haven’t seen it yet.

Well its boring, but its my life.
    bm4n

P.S. All this gaming isn’t as much of a waste of time as you think: I am in a 1536 man tourney of 512 teams for Splinter Cell and the winner gets a car…Second place is 1500 bucks and third is 500. When I win this, get famous, and never have to work again we’ll see whose laughing.

P.P.S. HAHA, almost forgot to post the point of this post, my list (BTW great song by the Killers)! Without further ado:
