Hi gang

I wasn’t sure what to title the post so I decided to have a greeting + a place. I tried twice to write out “North Dakota” but failed, somehow, both times. I decided to not mess with what fate was obviously trying to tell me…So good evening, North Dakot.

I guess I’ve been busy, you know? Gotta get ready…Brighton closes on the twentieth, Man Man is playing on the twenty-first, and I’m leaving for Coachella on the twenty-third. I should probably get some tickets for that stuff. Then I get back to Utah on the twenty-eighth and I’m driving to New York with someone I’ve never met before on the fifth of May, after I see NOFX on the third. In the mean time, I’m trying to chill and milk Utah for whatever it’s got before I bounce…

Any way, the other day (that would be yesterday, to be exact) I went snowboarding. And it was good. I tried to record myself hitting some little boxes but it’s tougher than it looks…I got a few 50-50s and half a tail-slide. There’s a 360 at the end. Might be a 180, I don’t remember…It’s hard to stick stuff while you’re holding a camera out with one hand, I think…I look lame in the video but whatever. Again, with this sticking stuff while camera-ing. But I’ve only tried it once. Any way it’s a crappy video but videos are fun to watch so here it is.

Superman is a joke. He’s like the Jock of super heroes. Superman never has to find guilt, he walks (flies?) into a robbery and starts punching. Superman only punishes those caught in the act, in this regard he is not so much a diminisher of crime as he is an encourager of crafty crime. As long as you can get in and out of your target without raising any alarms or getting anybody to scream the magic words: “Help! Superman!” you are pretty much good in his book and he’ll probably buy you a drink later. It makes you question his motives: Does he do it for justice? I daresay the answer is an (now) obvious NO. For citizen’s safety? Much more likely but I wouldn’t put my money on it. No, I’ve come to the conclusion (and I think you’ll agree) that Superman punishes “loud” crime because it’s SUPER loud with his enhanced hearing and keeps him up at all hours of the night…He is a relatively nice person (alien?) which is why he punishes criminals and not obnoxious neighbors, but who knows how long until hearing EVERYTHING will drive him psychotic enough to decide to rid the planet of the noisy “scourge” known as humanity? Not I, said the fly.

You can keep your super hero, Metropolis, I’ll live in a city protected by a much more stable hero. One whose severe lack of sleep has persisted for so long he believes he is a small winged mammal. A man, nay, a legend as smart as hes bat-s*** crazy…Ninja? Detective? Man? Billionaire? Rodent? Who knows…What we do know is that this playboy has money to burn, some severely misconstrued fantasies, a well-hidden history of sexual deviancy (allegedly), and a city full of people so far off the deep end they make a man running around in tights after dark pretending to be bat seem not only sane, but downright heroic! Gotham City, here I come!

Whats crackalackin, gang?

I’ve been working on the site a little bit and I’d appreciate if you’d check it out over at ilovebraxton.com. It’s kind of in beta…The thing is there are about fifty more plugins/widgets I’d like to stick in the sidebar but it’s getting a bit crowded. I could also make a playlist so that you could choose to listen live or to any past shows in that little player in the corner. And I’d like more AJAX so that you could navigate around the site without interrupting streams…Also integrating my user DBs would be sweet. But you don’t have to worry about most of that…So just look around, vote in the poll, and let me know what you think! Any tips or suggestions would be sweeto.

Oh man, gang!

I was pumped tonight! I tried to make a show to get you all pumped up as well…I’d recommend listening to this one during your morning trip to the gym Lotta metal-ish, lotta punk, some techno, some Bjork, and The D! As I was looking through the heavy stuff I realized that it’s so charged…I think I’m going to do a politically charged show in the near future, expect one this week. The message will be: Think for yourself! I don’t care if you thing left, right, middle, right side down or what, but believe it! Yeah, gang!

I had a good time tonight. Not only was I pre-stoked for the show but I also made a set list ahead of time so I wasn’t so confused the whole time! Tonight was the 10th show and the last show of this week. I will pick up broadcasting again on Monday at 8PM Eastern. I think I’m finally getting a format down and am finally ready for a co-host…We’d plan ahead of time the tracks we may play then we’d intro the show, talk about songs and play them…Like I do now but hopefully less boring to hear and more fun to make =) As it is I’m going to keep doing what I’m doing because I don’t know what else to do and I’m having fun, haha. Yeah, buddy, gang!

Good show tonight, I think…I was stoked coming into the show, as opposed to last night, and many other shows. I played stuff from Coachella last year and this year and stuff your dad listened to and stuff you used to in middle school…I feel like it went really well. I don’t know what to say…Well even though I promised myself not to look at my listener stats anymore I did tonight…And I was pleasantly surprised =) I had a max of 5 listeners but more unique listeners than that. Tomorrow will be the last live show until Monday so make sure you tune in! It will be even better than tonight!

EDIT: Oh yeah! During the show I mentioned one of my BFFs who I went to a Blink 182 concert with back in the day…I mentioned that he would deny loving them now…I was completely mistaken! He went out of his way to let me know that to this day they are his favorite band ever…OK, he didn’t say that but he said he liked them. And I do too. Let’s all go join a Facebook group about Blink 182 now to display our appreciation of middle school rock (as I am hereby dubbing the genre that Blink and any other bands who we used to rock out to in middle school fall into).
